Carlot to proceed with Loltong agreement

The caretaker minister of lands, Maxime Carlot, recently wrote a letter to the claimants of the public land at Loltong in North Pentecost stating his strong support for the agreement signed with Huhugaituvwa Association.

 

Mr Carlot says that concerning the issues of the land owners receiving VT 81 million, this is nothing new to him and the ministry of lands.

Heritage status for site where dozens were buried alive

 

The largest site of live burials in the Pacific region has been added to Unesco's World Heritage List.

 

The United Nations agency this week added new sites to its list including three in the Pacific - the domain of Chief Roi Mata, Vanuatu's last paramount chief, the New Caledonia lagoon, and the Kuk early agricultural site in Papua New Guinea.

5th National Agricultural and Trade Show

Preparations for the Fifth National Agriculture Trade Show are now well underway at Club Hippique on the second lagoon in Port Vila.

 

This year’s event will also include a special feature on custom economy to commemorate the “2008 Year of Custom Economy” declared by the Government.
